State Sen. Joe Simitian, D-Palo Alto, will host his semi-annual “Education Update” meeting on Saturday, Feb. 10, in Palo Alto for local school board members, superintendents, teachers, parents, and the public.
The meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Palo Alto Unified School District board room at 25 Churchill Ave. in Palo Alto.
He said he will provide an in-depth update on K-12 education funding and legislation pending in Sacramento. He will then open the floor to questions.
He timed the meeting with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s release of his January budget proposal.
Sen. Simitian is a member of the Senate Education Committee and the Senate Budget Subcommittee on Education, and is chair of the Senate Select Committee on California’s Master Plan for Education.
