Team 100, Woodside/Carlmont Robotics Teamrobot performed extremely well at the Silicon Valley Regional in San Jose, March 15-17.
The Woodside/Carlmont robot won seven out of eight matches in the qualifying rounds, earning a No. 2 seed position.
The team accepted an offer to join the alliance with the No. 1 seed team, 114, Eagle Strike from Los Altos. Although the alliance lost in the semi-finals, it had a great showing.
The team’s colorful robot, Tube-a-saurus Rex, with its ferocious painted face, was a crowd favorite.
In addition, the team won the prestigious General Motors Industrial Design Award. This design states: “Celebrates form and function in an efficiently designed machine that effectively achieves the game challenge.”
