The Foothill Auxiliary to Family Service Agency of San Mateo County kicks off the holiday hoopla with, not only its 10th annual “Holidays on a High Note” benefit, but a “jazzy preview party” the night before.
The preview party takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Menlo Circus Club in Atherton, followed by the home entertaining benefit from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, also at the Circus Club.
A 1920s theme will prevail at the preview party, where guests will get an advance peek at the floral and table displays and enjoy a cocktail buffet. Jim Pollack & Friends, featuring Chuck Huggins, will provide live jazz. Jennifer Pollack and Betty Ann Reinhardt are co-chairs of the party, which is co-hosted by Family Service’s Valley and Foothill auxiliaries.
Guests may bid on such silent auction items as a five-night trip to the Four Seasons Hualalai in Hawaii and wine tastings courtesy of Burrell School Vineyards and Winery, Fernwood Cellars, Ridge Vineyards and Sarah’s Vineyards.
Tickets to the preview party are $125 per person with a $15 discount for those purchasing tickets to both days’ events.
On Monday there will be a presentation by celebrated San Francisco designer Jun Pinon, approximately 25 holiday table settings, and floral presentations from the Bay Area’s best designers, as well as a boutique marketplace.
Co-chairs Kris Forbes and Andi Mallinckrodt hope to equal last year’s success when 250 guests attended, raising $20,000 for Family Service Agency.
Tickets are $85 per person, including lunch. Advance reservations are required. For tickets or an invitation, call Vivienne Virani at 473-0645.
