There has been much discussion — pro and con — about the high-speed train running through Menlo Park and Atherton.
One “con” is the location, which could devalue some people’s property, and possibly take some away. Another concern is noise and viewing unsightly walls, instead of blue sky and nature.
If the train will be used regularly by as many people as we have been told, why not eliminate one lane in each direction of Highway 101 and replace it with the high-speed rail system? Boarding and exiting the train could be done through tunnels under the freeway. All traffic noise, bright lights, and other unnatural things would be in one place. People would not lose their homes or a sense of whatever peace and calm they may now be experiencing.
