With the closure of Alma at Ravenswood, traffic on Alma has plunged to almost zero. It occurred to me that, as a nice wide, long-unused area next to the railroad tracks, the stretch of Alma east of Ravenswood would be prime land for high-speed rail to acquire. They could even start Peninsula construction right there — after all, no one’s really using it. Indeed, it’s a prime target for eminent domain by HSR in its current condition.

I neither advocate nor oppose such a move, merely point it out.
