The fifth draft of Woodside’s housing element is now open for public comment from July 16 through July 23. The Town Council will be reviewing the draft at its meeting on July 23 at 7 p.m. in Independence Hall.
Comments on the housing element draft can be submitted in person at 2955 Woodside Road or may be emailed to Planning Director Sage Schaan at SSchaan@woodsideca.gov. Changes have only been made to chapter 3 of the housing element.
Language has been updated around local processing and permit procedures, building design, site planning and community characters to maintain the rural aesthetics of the town. Changes have also been made to allow additional accessory dwelling units on properties over two acres, reflect the town’s definition on emergency shelters and to update the town’s action plan.
During the meeting on July 23, the council may adopt and/or direct that the housing element be submitted to the state Department of Housing and Community Development to be reviewed, according to the town of Woodside.
The housing element document can be found on woodsideca.gov.
