For the third year, Redwood City Library Foundation is hosting its Upscale Pub Crawl, a fundraiser for the foundation in conjunction with Banned Books Week, an annual event supporting the freedom to read and the fight against censorship.

The “crawl” starts at the downtown library and includes 17 local establishments (Alhambra, Angelicas, Blacksmith, The Bottleshop, CRU Wine Bar, Das Bierhauz, Ghostwood Kitchen, Gourmet Haus Staudt, Hidden Tap and Barrel, Little Green, LV Mar, Nighthawk, Quinto Sol, The Hub, The Sandwich Shop, Vino Santo and “Banned Book Headquarters”).

Participants will receive discounts on drinks and snacks and a RCLF volunteer will be on hand at each location to answer questions and offer information.

Oct. 9, 5-9 p.m., Redwood City Public Library, 1044 Middlefield Road, Redwood City; $55.20; eventbrite.com.
