The town of Atherton announced that a paving project will be taking place at Holbrook-Palmer Park on Wednesday, Aug. 14, and Friday, Aug. 16, which will impact traffic and parking at the park. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on these two days.

On Aug. 14, the Main House parking lot will be closed for the entire day, and there will be one-way traffic control through the park, according to the announcement from the town. On Aug. 16, additional parking areas from the main parking lot to the parking lot near the tennis courts will be closed off, with no traffic or parking allowed for the entire day.

A news item from the town recommends that residents “plan (visits) accordingly, and allow extra time … to pass through the impacted areas.”

This closure comes as part of a larger pavement sealing project throughout the town. Several streets throughout Atherton will be closed off throughout the month of August to accommodate the work.

As part of this project, Atherton will also be installing shared roadway bicycle markings (“sharrows”) on several roads, including Alejandra Avenue, Atherton Avenue, Austin Avenue, Barry Lane, Dinkelspiel Station Lane, Elena Avenue, Emilie Avenue, Fair Oaks Lane, Park Lane, Selby Lane and Watkins Avenue.
