Goats to return to Menlo Park mid-summer
A herd of goats that grazes on vegetation at Sharon Hills Park in Menlo Park will return in mid-summer. Each year, the goats help control weeds and reduce fire risk as part of the city’s Integrated Pest Management Plan.
The herd typically spends two weeks at Sharon Hills Park before Memorial Day, but this year’s program was delayed after the city issued a request for proposals for a contractor to manage it. The agreement is still being finalized, and no exact date has been set.
