Menlo Park police arrested two boys and are looking for two more in connection with a residential burglary that occurred at about 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, in the 400 block of Bay Road in the Flood Park neighborhood.
Two boys were arrested and booked into Hillcrest juvenile hall on charges of burglary and receiving stolen property, said Sgt. Sharon Kaufman of the Menlo Park police department. Police did not identify the boys because of their status as juveniles.
Officers converged on the neighborhood when a resident called in a detailed description of four “suspicious” boys carrying a bag in the 1000 block of Oakland Avenue. Upon seeing the squad cars, the boys ran to the 700 block of Ivy Avenue, police said, the same block police had linked to a burglary suspect in December.
At the Ivy Avenue home of that suspect, police obtained a relative’s permission to enter and then talked one boy out of his locked bedroom. A second boy was found in another bedroom along with a pillowcase containing items from the burglarized home on Bay Road.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call 330-6300.
