Nine Menlo Park real estate agents for Coldwell Banker have ranked in the top 1 percent of the company’s 4,800 agents in 2005.

The rankings are based on dollar volume of sales transactions.

Realtors Elaine White, Don Diltz, Hanna Shacham, Hugh Cornish, Janet and John Dore, and Steve Bellumori of the Menlo Park El Camino office, and Keri Nicholas and Tom LeMieux of the Menlo Park Santa Cruz office, are the top performers.

The Menlo Park agents were recognized at a special event held recently at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. They are also invited to attend Coldwell Banker’s retreat to be held October 22-26 at the Fairmont Kea Lani resort in Maui.

John Doxsee joins Coldwell Banker

John Doxsee, a swimming and water polo coach for local schools and clubs, is the newest sales associate with the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office at 930 Santa Cruz Ave. in Menlo Park.

Mr. Doxsee, who has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of California at Berkeley, received real estate sales training through Anthony Schools and Coldwell Banker Northern California University.

Dave Hobson is manager of the Santa Cruz office.

Bret Berner named chief scientific officer

Bret Berner, vice president of product development for the Menlo Park pharmaceutical company, Depomed Inc., was recently given the additional title of chief scientific officer.

Mr. Berner, 53, joined Depomed in 1998. Prior to that, he was vice president of development for drug delivery system for Cygnus Inc.

More funds for Reliant Technologies

Reliant Technologies Inc., a Mountain View-based manufacturer of medical laser technology for aesthetic applications, recently announced the closing of a $22 million round of funding, led by Meritech Capital Partners in Palo Alto. The Portola Valley firm Three Arch Partners, an earlier venture partner with Reliant, joined in the funding.

Accel-KKR invests in Sabe Consulting

Accel-KKR, a Menlo Park-based private equity firm, recently announced an investment in Saber Consulting, a software company based in Salem, Oregon, whose clients are state and local government entities.

The investment (the amount was not disclosed) reflects Accel-KKR’s focus on “small and mid-sized family or closely held technology companies that are located outside of traditional technology corridors,” said Ben Bisconti, managing director of Accel-KKR, whose offices are at 2500 Sand Hill Road.
