Based on DNA evidence and the results of a photo line-up, Menlo Park police have named a suspect in the October 2005 carjacking and sexual assault of a Flood Triangle neighborhood woman who agreed to help a man who said he had car problems.
Menlo Park police have issued an arrest warrant for Quincy E. Powell, 41, on robbery, burglary and sexual assault charges, said Sgt. Jim Simpson of the Menlo Park Police Department.
Mr. Powell is currently in custody in Santa Rita jail in Alameda County on charges unrelated to the October 2005 incident, Sgt. Simpson said.
Menlo Park police have “no idea” when Mr. Powell will be released to face charges in San Mateo County, said Sgt. Sharon Kaufman.
