Menlo Park City School District’s Yes on Measure U campaign received 25 donations in support of the $123.6 million ballot initiative that would fund facilities improvement projects across Encinal School, Laurel Elementary School, Oak Knoll Elementary School and Hillview Middle School.

The committee has raised $34,386 in monetary contributions and $6,070 in nonmonetary contributions, according to campaign finance reports from the filing period of Sept. 22 to Oct. 19. 

Roper Investments in Menlo Park donated a total of $6,000 for newspaper advertising in the Palo Alto Daily Post. Campaign Chair Katherine Bicer donated about $70 worth of event supplies and food. 

The highest monetary contribution of $7,000 came from Newton Center Inc., an after school program that partners with MPCSD and other school districts on the Peninsula. The committee also received $5,000 donations each from Laurel’s Parent Teacher Organization and HED, a San Francisco-based architecture design firm that helped modernize MPCSD’s transitional kindergarten classrooms. 

San Mateo County Mateo County Supervisor David Canepa donated $250 to the campaign. Flint Design Builders, a construction company based in Roseville, contributed $2,000. 

Other contributions range from $100 to $2,500 from Menlo Park and Atherton residents and local supporters outside of San Mateo County. Overall, the campaign has raised $168,991.

The committee also spent $88,651 this filing period on campaign photo shoots, reimbursements, video advertisement production, campaign text messaging, digital advertisements, yard signs and other materials.
