Nealon Park playground, located at 800 Middle Ave. in Menlo Park, will be temporarily closed this week, the city of Menlo Park announced.
The closure is to allow for repairs and replacement of several damaged parts, according to the city. The playground will reopen on Saturday, July 19.
Nealon Park underwent a $1 million renovation in 2019 to become Menlo Park’s first all-inclusive, all-abilities playground. In November, the city modified the parking configuration at the park to increase the number of spots by implementing back-in angle parking and adjusting the layout of other spaces. In total, the city added 21 additional parking spaces, bringing the total to 65.
Nearby playgrounds to visit during the closure include Jack W. Lyle Park, located at Middle Avenue at Fremont Street, and Sharon Park at 1100 Monte Rosa Drive. Visit the Menlo Park website to find more information and a full list of city parks.
