Incumbent Charles Krenz was elected Tuesday to one of two seats on the board of the Los Trancos County Water District. Challenger Mike Ward leads in the vote count for the second seat.
The latest count shows Mr. Krenz with 140 votes, Mr. Ward with 85, and challenger Richard Swan with 80, according to the San Mateo County Elections Office.
Mr. Ward, a retired Hewlett-Packard executive, and Mr. Swan, a software company founder, ran as a slate.

Ward 37
It looks like Vote by Mail ballots that haven’t been counted and provisionals will determine the second place finish.
It’s Trancos not Tancos in the headline. The headline is misleading because a winner hasn’t been declared for the second seat. There are more than 5 mail in votes to be counted. “Krenz elected to Water Board, Ward currently leads Swan” would be a more accurate headline.
