The Menlo-Atherton football team won its first Peninsula Athletic League championship in 15 years with a 48-7 romp over host Woodside on Friday night.
The Bears (7-0, 9-1) clinched the Bay Division crown quickly, thus ending Aragon’s hopes for a possible co-title had Woodside won. Aragon had won the past four division titles.
The Bears scored on their second possession and dominated from there.
Senior running back Will Latu rushed for 209 yards on 10 carries and scored on runs of 46 and 79 yards. Senior quarterback Troy McCabe completed five of eight passes for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
