A former employee of the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health pleaded no contest Wednesday in Santa Clara County Superior Court to charges that she embezzled more than $350,000 from the foundation, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office.
Machalowski, whose age was listed as 68 last year, worked for the foundation from 1999 to 2007.
Forensic auditors discovered the embezzlement and Machalowski was arrested by Palo Alto police in July 2008.
She worked as an accountant and payroll/benefits manager for the foundation. She was charged with wiring money from the foundation into a personal account and also siphoning off money for her retirement account.
