Local residents who died recently include:
Chesley Douglas, 81, a Palo Alto resident and San Jose State alum and member of the Palo Alto Rotary who had a lengthy banking career with Wells Fargo, who was the collaborator of the Neighbors Abroad kiosk in front of Palo Alto City Hall, and who was active playing tennis, skiing and collecting beer cans, green bottles, old helmets, hats and stamps, on March 16, 2024.
John Redpath, 81, an anesthesiologist who practiced at Stanford Hospital and Surgecenter of Palo Alto, who had previously worked in Toronto as a family practice doctor, and who was active with Interplast and had traveled to many countries in Central America, South America and Asia, on March 3, 2024.
Muriel McGee, 96, who grew up in England before emigrating to Vancouver and eventually moving to the Bay Area, where she worked for an insurance company in Menlo Park, and traveled internationally to places in Europe as well as Kenya and Japan, on April 1, 2024.
Roy McLaughlin, 67, a longtime Mountain View resident who had served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1983, later working for Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale for over three decades, on April 6, 2024.
