Local residents who died recently include:
David Hopkins, 81, a Palo Alto resident who served on the leadership team at Stanford Hospital, held senior positions at the Pacific Business Group on Health and mentored researchers at Stanford’s Clinical Excellence Research Center, died on Feb. 21 in an ocean accident in Hawaii.
Dan Flavahan, 56, a Mountain View resident who worked as an athletic director and physical education teacher at Corte Madera School in Portola Valley, who established Panthers Camp to mentor students, died on April 13.
Paul Valentine, 93, of Portola Valley, who served as a flight test engineer for the U.S. Air Force, traveled the world in freighters and troopships, became a lawyer, served in the Office of General Counsel of the Department of Defense and co-founded his own law firm, died on April 3.
