Fifth annual PV Palooza

Portola Valley’s fifth annual PV Palooza summer music festival is taking place on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Town Center. The event will feature 20 local bands, four stages and local art, food, wine and beer vendors.

All bands are local to Portola Valley, Woodside, La Honda and Skylonda, with musical genres range from rock opera to reggae. They include Dr. Sig & The SuperNaturals, This Way Up, Black Krim, The Bundy Browne Band, Across the Holler and Pacific Vibration.

Local beers and wines will be served by Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company and the barbecue will be sold by Lord of the Ribs.

The event is free and is open for all ages. Children’s activities will also be available onsite. Portola Valley Town Center is located at 765 Portola Road.

Atherton committee and commission recruitment

The town of Atherton is seeking residents who are interested in volunteering for open committee seats this fall. Applications are open for three committees — Environmental Programs, Audit and Finance, and Transportation, Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety — and the Planning Commission.
