Deputy Chief Moniay Wade of the San Mateo County Probation Department has been named the Bay Region Employee of the Year at the 2024 Chief Probation Officers of California (CPOC) Awards Ceremony.
The recognition was announced on Dec. 4 during the statewide event, highlighting Wade’s exceptional leadership and dedication to advancing the field of probation.
“Deputy Chief Wade’s leadership fosters a culture of balance between accountability and staff wellness, ensuring both departmental success and community well-being,” said John Keene, chief probation officer of San Mateo County.
Wade’s contributions span operational leadership, mentoring staff, and enhancing officer safety practices, earning praise for embodying the department’s core values of professionalism, integrity and excellence.
“(His) dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to both his team and the community exemplify the spirit of this award…,” said Chief Kelly Vernon, president of CPOC.
The CPOC Awards honor individuals who advance public safety and support community well-being across California.
