For the 10th consecutive year, Sacred Heart Prep will send 12 or more student-athletes to play at the intercollegiate level. The Class of 2016 boasts 18 headed to play 10 different sports in the collegiate ranks.

The 2016 WBAL Foothill Division champion girls’ lacrosse program will send the largest contingent of three players to the next level. Juliana Clark and Emma Johnson will represent the Gators at Scripps College, while teammate Libby Muir will play locally at Stanford University.

Muir is one of four SHP student-athletes headed to Stanford, as Andrew Daschbach (baseball), Tierna Davidson (women’s soccer) and Malaika Koshy (women’s water polo) all will compete for the Pac-12 powerhouse.

After helping guide the SHP football program to the a state championship game this past fall, Justin Harmon and Mason Randall are slated to play at Chapman University and the University of San Diego, respectively.

The boys’ water polo program will send at least one player to the collegiate ranks for the ninth consecutive season as Finn Banks heads to Johns Hopkins University and Jack Hocker to Chapman.

Coming off their Central Coast Section semifinals appearance, volleyball teammates Jorden Schreeder and Lilika Teu will matriculate to Vassar College and the Academy of Art, respectively.

Isabella Chun will hit the links in the Northeast as a member of the Wellesley College women’s golf team, while Riley Hemm is set to play women’s basketball at Presbyterian College in South Carolina. In the pool, Massachusetts Institute of Technology will welcome Kayla Holman to the women’s swimming team and Nick Oliver is UC Santa Barbara-bound to join the men’s swimming team.

Rounding out SHP’s group are Matthew MacFarquhar (men’s soccer) and Sasha Novitsky (men’s cross country and track), who will attend Johns Hopkins and Claremont McKenna College, respectively.

“We are grateful for all their contributions to Sacred Heart Preps athletics these past four years and wish them nothing but continued success as they compete at the next level,” concluded Rodriguez.
