Emersen Sweeney scored a goal and added an assist as the Gunn girls soccer team beat visiting Scotts Valley 4-1 in a non-league match Tuesday night.
Isabella Heilman, Elina Saab-Sunden and Helena Setering also scored for the Titans (5-0-1), who open Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division play with a match at Palo Alto on Friday. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
The Vikings (2-3-1) lost to visiting Presentation 1-0 in a nonleague match Tuesday. Presentation improved to 3-3.
Gunn and Paly are meeting for the second of three scheduled contests. The teams tied 2-2 over the weekend in the Firebird Classic at Fremont High in Sunnyvale.
Heilman gave Gunn the lead with a goal created by Sweeney’s crossing pass. Saab-Sunden finished off a run with a score just halftime. Detering and Sweeney each scored in the second half.
Boys soccer
Tuesday’s scheduled match between Lynbrook and host Palo Alto was cancelled.
Boys basketball
Kehillah beat Mid-Peninsula 60-47 in a nonleague game in Palo Alto on Tuesday.
