The Menlo Park Police Department sent out an alert advising residents to avoid the intersection of Bayfront Expressway and Meta Way due to “multiple traffic collisions.” The alert went out at 11:05 a.m.
Police say that traffic from the multiple collisions would continue to cause traffic backups and detours for the next hour.
The PulsePoint app showed two separate collisions in the area, one that took place at 10:27 a.m. and another at 10:50 a.m. According to Nicole Acker, a spokesperson for the Menlo Park Police Department, each collision involved two vehicles.
Acker also said that one of the collisions resulted in a minor injury. The person was treated and released at the scene.
The crashes were cleared by 11:50 a.m.
