Drivers heading to the Coastside on State Route 84 will be facing lane closures and delays throughout the summer and into the fall as crews begin retaining wall construction to address erosion along the San Gregorio Creek.
Workers will be on site Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on some weekends, according to Caltrans. The work area, between the San Gregorio Creek bridge and La Honda Creek, is marked with rumble strips and electronic signs. Drivers should expect delays of up to five minutes and can monitor real-time traffic quickmap.dot.ca.gov.
Caltrans expects to remove blockades by October, but past projects on Highway 84 have gone beyond their anticipated finish date for up to two months.
