Warm and dry weather will continue across the Bay Area on Monday before a cooling trend begins ahead of light rain expected Tuesday through Thursday, forecasters said.
In an advisory, the National Weather Service said the midweek rain could bring slick roadways but is expected to remain light across most areas.Â
Rainfall totals are expected to remain modest. Forecasters said the North Bay mountains could receive about 0.15 to 0.40 inches, while valleys and coastal areas may see about 0.10 to 0.25 inches. Totals across the San Francisco Peninsula and East Bay are expected to range from 0.05 to 0.20 inches.
Similar light rainfall is forecast for the South Bay, Santa Cruz County, and Monterey counties, with slightly higher totals possible in some mountain areas.
Looking ahead, offshore winds are possible Friday, April 3, with gusts reaching 25 to 45 mph in higher terrain and mountain gaps, especially in parts of the North Bay, East Bay and Central Coast.
After the midweek system moves through, conditions are expected to warm and dry again later in the week, forecasters said.
