Portola Valley School District completes projects funded by Measure Z

The Portola Valley School District’s facilities improvement project funded by Measure Z has successfully concluded and has been verified by the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee, according to a PVSD press release.

Measure Z, a $49.5 million bond measure, was approved by voters in 2018 to fund enhancements to campus safety and infrastructure, modernization of classrooms, a teaching garden and construction of new music, art and science classrooms at Corte Madera School and Ormondale Elementary School.

“The completion of the Measure Z projects marks a significant achievement for our district,” said Johanna Street, chair of the CBOC. “We are proud to have overseen the responsible and efficient use of these funds to enhance our students’ learning environments.”

The CBOC commended the school district for achieving a higher bond rating which lowered interest rates and saved taxpayers money. The committee’s report detailed the district’s $3 million investment in Ormondale School and a $5 million investment in Corte Madera School using Measure Z funds during 2024.
