Jed Scolnick first joined the Menlo Park City School District board in 2022 and is the parent of two district graduates. He said he is seeking reelection to continue working with the district as it faces declining enrollment, delivering Measure U-funded projects transparently and protecting long-term financial health.

Scolnick has lived in Menlo Park since 2010 and has been an active member in the district, volunteering in classrooms, serving on PTO boards and coaching youth sports.

Scolnick said he is running for reelection to provide steady leadership. “Our district is in great shape right now,” he said in an email. “I want to ensure we keep building seamlessly on our recent successes.”

During his time on the board, Scolnick said he pioneered San Mateo County’s first districtwide e-bike safety policy, ensured oversight of Measure U-funded bond projects and represented MPCSD in labor negotiations while supporting teachers and maintaining a stable budget.

“Sustaining MPCSD’s tradition of award-winning academic excellence, while navigating near-term enrollment shifts and preparing for future growth from the SRI and USGS housing developments, requires proven know-how and steady leadership — and I look forward to continuing to serve our community,” said Scolnick in an email to The Almanac.

He does not have a campaign website.
